As many of you will probably know by now, and I have been finally married! November 7th was the exact date, if you care to know these things. So, sorry ladies (and... a few gentlemen, perhaps?) but I am officially and happily off the market.

She's made me a spiffy new icon, which I think go pretty well together, let's have a look;



Aww yeah... look at them go. Rockin' the Team Rocket.

Pokemon/Team Rocket has always been an important part in our lives. It's pretty much what brought us together. We play all the games(I'm not nearly as hardcore as she is), and watch the cartoon every morning when we're able. Nerdy? Extremely. But it's our thing.

Back way way in the day, she ran a little website called The Team Rocket Refuge. This is essentially where we met. A lot of stuff went down, good and bad, but that was always our rally point, something we could always go back to. Lots of art and stories and laughs and tears; this was a very important part of our lives.

Even when we took the 'maturity sieve' out and turned The Refuge into its own incarnation, sans Pokemon, it still held that charm and essence of the halcyon days. The new Refuge still does, of course, considering that it's still in the works (and is what most of the artwork in this gallery is devoted to) and will be fully fledged very soon. We still were able to look back when we wanted to; at the good times.

So today, when we discovered that Geocities, which hosted our precious archive, had 'died', we were very upset.

Looking into it, it didn't happen 'out of nowhere'. E-mails were sent out, warnings were given to save. But we were so caught up in newer things, sites, e-mail accounts, etc, that it blew over our heads.

We took the site for granted, and now just about everything that we don't have some form of physical copy of, is gone.

In the grand scheme of things, the idea is to keep looking forward. But we were proud of our roots and were glad to point friends and former fans back to. Have a night to re read some adolescent fiction, remember those first few tiny kindling that started this now burning romance.

The Refuge as it is still has a bright future ahead. But for now I can't help but mourn the loss of what it used to be. At least for a while.

For anyone who doesn't really know what I'm talking about, just trust me. You all would have had a blast. My terrible writing style alone would have been a hoot in itself.
